Capital Carboot

Rummage-Tastic

Last Sunday I had a Funday. I went on a car boot trail with me m8s, starting off at Battersea and then ending at the Capital Carboot Sale in Pimlico. Unfortunately luck wasn't on my side (or I wasn't in the mood to spend) and I went home with someone's old multi coloured T-shirt (with pom-poms on it) which I bought to wear in bed...

1. Totally weird
2. My pj drawer has enough crap in it already.

Oh well, nothing an extra hot wash can't rectify. My friend Amy (http://amy-sherman.com/) did, on the contrary very well. She found some wonderful ostrich leather buckle brogue-esque shoes, a leather pencil skirt, a loose knit jumper and a gold-y oversized jumper. Hey, you win some you lose some. Both carboots' run each and every Sunday meaning that YOU have multiple opportunities to get some very cheap Christmas presents. Rummagerummage.

In my closet

Sometimes it's good to have a bit of a sort out and get your head around what pieces you want to wear once the weather gets a bit chilly...
I, myself, me, like to chuck all summery things in a bin liner and put it in the wardrobe and re stock the shelf which housed such silky floral numbers with knits, knits and more knits.
Here are a few of my fave accessories at the moment. The burberry tea cosy hat was found at Capital Car Boot Sale and I share it with my boyfriend (although it is set to cause a lot of feuds I think!) The shoes, clutch and silk dotty men's evening scarf are from Deuxieme but originally from Topshop, Banana Republic and anonymous respectively. (Told you it was the place to shop!!) My gold armour cuff was found today for £2 at a charity shop on the Fulham Road as was the amazing silver tassle key ring on the bag. And my Caroline Hoxton battered leather bag was 0.99p on Ebay...Hell yer! Good labels do not have to cost the earth. Become a bargain hunter and you will be laughing.

Capital Car Boot Sale

If there is one thing to do in London on a Sunday IT IS THIS. The Capital Car Boot Sale runs every Sunday in Pimlico (in a school playground) and you can pick up a whole bag full of goodies for just a few pounds. Plus everyone there is well nice and there are some great stories that people tell you about what you are buying. I overhead a very beautiful couple telling a very trendy guy all about the parties his newly purchased leather jacket had been to. The photo frames were 50p each (I'm going to paint inside them), the battered leather motorcycle pouch bag (perfect for my camera) was ONE POUND PEOPLE and the gold watch and friendship bracelets were £.3.50 in total. Just as I was leaving I spied the silk floral maxi dress (bottom) by Country Road, an Australian label and I managed to bargain with the lovely owner who let me sprint out of there with a dress for £1.50. I am wearing it now as I rejoice on my bed. YIPEE. I LOVE DAYS LIKE THIS. Car boot sales are the way forward I tell thee. Click HERE for a link for more info on this event.
