Mind The Gap

SERIOUSLY!

You need to watch yourself and mind the GAP. They are on FIRE for Summer 2013. I popped in store this week, just for a little "meander" (as they say) and I was OVERJOYED by such lovely pieces. GAP seem to have a handle on using good quality materials now (don't even get me started on the prints) and so where other high street brands are still churning out the hair raising polyester malarky, GAP has it's hands firmly on fresh and crisp cottons. I tried on the lovely paisley shirt above with the printed denim shorts and I loved that contrast of prints, all within the same blue colour palette. Now it is the waiting game till Payday... seriously, HURRY UP!

Prototype

LBDs

Stands for

little.black.dresses

OR

long.black.dresses

Either way I am CRAZY for them this summer. Crochet, stretchy, shiny, long, short, just give me LBDs and I'm happy. The three above are the prototypes. I'll post some pics of my 2012 finds tomorrow.

The Light Side

Drum Roll Please...

Dumdumdumdumdumdumdumdumdumdumdumdumdumdumdumdumdumdumdumdumdumdumdum

Iiiiiiiin FIRST place we have IRO's magnificent, wonderful, triumphant ivory and print zipper jacket which moulds the old body like a friggin' glove on a hand. I  should know...I wondered into a spacious boutique shop on the Northcote Rd yesterday (Question Air...check it out) and there it was, the jacket of my dreams, the source of my Vestaire Collective obsession, staring back at me. I tried it on and almost yelped with joy. Pity it's FIVE HUNDRED AND NINETY FIVE POUNDS. What in the name of ZEUS is that all about hmmmmm?

IIIIIInnnnn SECOND place, step forward Gat Rimons for an impossibly simple but effective quilted cotton jacket. Oh so pretty, summer-fresh and French. I looooooove it. But at £195, I'd rather make my own one out of paper mache...That's a thought....

Iiiiiiiiiiiin THIRD place.... the maker of my INCREDIBLE bikini that I made an impromptu splurge on a few weeks ago, Laurence Dolige has taken what I like best about sofa's and turned it into a boxy, comfy jacket. There is nothing I don't like about this....oh wait...other than the fact that I can't afford it at a nice, round £330.

Oh well, a girl can but dream and make her Vestaire wishlist bigger and bigger and bigger and bigger

Jackets are so HOT right now. I will post a picture of my Zara Number One Wanted later on....toodles.

I want, I want

Blouse from Zara: Buy here
Boots from La Redoute: Buy here

Stone grey...

...but ONE HUNDRED MILLION MILES away from being dull. I would very VERY much like both of these thank you very much. The scarf print shirt is really something spesh, I got EMOSH just even looking at it. I have recently fallen back in love with an ex lover of mine...La Redoute. FANTASTIC and virtually unused by most of the young girls I know. This seems a real shame considering their footwear is quality stuff and reasonably priced. But please don't get the boots above before me...or I'll have to kill you. No really.

So what's new guys???? I have started reading the Michael Collins biography by Tim Pat Coogan. For anyone who doesn't know (and I don't know quite who hasn't heard me drunkenly blabbing on about how he's related to me or in my normal wording, "his blood is running through my veins guys") he is my great grandfathers cousin. This biography is fascinating. My relative was brave, fearless and loved Ireland more than he loved himself. He was an original revolutionary and like most, died for the cause. He was asassinated in August 1922. His daddy new exactly what his young son would be and when our Mick was just 6 years old, his father said of him  "One day he'll be a great man. He'll do great work for Ireland" and so he did. Us Collins' are very lucky to have the name we do and hopefully some of his spirit was passed down to all of us.

The Dress

So sozzle about the miniture pics but I simply HAD to show you this fabulous FABULOUS sheer knit dress from ASOS who can (by the way) do no wrong at the moment. Trust me, I visit their 'new in' section each day (window shopping I might add) and there are some real trans-seasonal gems. So to say I am pining for this number above is an understatement. I am LUSTING. I am LONGING...I am IMAGINING all the things I could wear it to and all the comments and gasps it would draw... I've never felt unrequited love such as this before...Click here to get your paws on a masterpiece. Jelly.
