The Olden Days

Step Back

...In time, to days gone by...

And exquisite treasures you will find...

But why the need for all this rhyme?

I just don't know. Let's have a lime.

No idea why I just did that. Vintage Louis Vuitton and Gucci bags and Ferragamo pumps all from the marvelous Deuxieme.

Yang Du

Where The Wild Things Are...

This week I am assisting on a music video and on this music video, we are using YANG DU. I mean does it get any cooler than these animal print silk kaftans? Unfortunately they are NOT so affordable, at around £600 each and in turn, this makes my fantasy of wearing one to a crazaaaayyyyy night in IBIZA unrealistic. Still, I can do it in my head, YEAAAAH. Check out Yang Du's surrealist work HERE. And in other news, we had an exceptional supermodel into Deuxieme late last week... when Molly waltzed in with that navajo inspired necklace you see below, we were all GREEN with jealousy. Some people have all the luck. My only criticism? She was TOTALLY posing!

Tartan

Luckily...

My bathroom mirror is SO clean with not a trace of dried toothpaste in sight. Yesterday I wore my oversized cashmere jumper from Isabelle with woolen tights, my Etro tweed loafers (that need re healing BAAAAAAAAD) and a silk YSL scarf that I got for my birthday. Silk Scarves are where it's at for my right now, I can feel the waves of a GIGANTIC obsession washing over me as I write. They are just SO ACE. Taking any old outfit from boring, to special.

We have lots of beautiful scarves in the shop at the moment so browse online or pop in as SOME OS US HAVE TO WORK EVERY WEEKEND.

Hmmmmkay Bye

A Dress With Nine Lives

That's the hit of the whole fruit right there...

Deuxieme has a vintage section now and this  zingy coral beauty ground down my resistance until alas...it was MINE. ALLLLL MIIIIIINE. The cut is INCRED. It skims off the shoulder and is so figure hugging. The pockets on the hips give the illusion of mad men curves and the silk embroidery all over it could not be found on today's slap bang, disposable clothes. Now it must be said,  I am not the biggest fan of vintage. Places like Beyond Retro make me want to live in a white room with nothing in it, urgh, the CHAOS dears, and that musty smell. Oh and the arrogant LOSERS who work there and think part of their job description is to be a moody POSER. I hate my job but I'm so cool,WAWAWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA....that kind of irritating behaviour. While I'm on the subject I'd like to make the point that Pret A Manger have THE best staff in the UK, consistently. A delight every time. That is all i want to say really.

PSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSST Tonight  I'm off to The Jamboree for their gypsy music night. Wahoooooo Check it out here YO: http://jamboreevenue.co.uk/archives/338

Going Green

Afternoon off...

...gave way to a trip to the BRILLIANT, MARVELOUS AND RODDING CHEAP Hannah's Nail Salon on the New Kings Road (literally underneath my window!) It is amazing in there. Just £5 for a file and paint or £24 for a full luxury pedicure and a rainbow of colours to choose from. They are doing so well and it's not hard to see why. All the staff (they're Vietnamese) are lovely, friendly and efficient. Rosie took me there last Friday ( I got the "naughty" colour heheheh) and I couldn't help but sneak back in today to get the "going incognito" green. It is me in a nail varnish. It SCREAMS me. Just in time for London Fashion Week ( oh boy I'm excited about Sunday)....

get ready for some exciting blog posts next week!

Have a great weekend.... Toodles

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK IM EXCITED!

Walk The Line

Clip Clop Clip Clop

Merry Saturday homies. Well it is for some of us. SOME of us are at work. Sigh. I have recently discovered the marvells of a good pair of shoes after spending pretty much (all) most of the time trying to slum it in unruly second hand toerags from Ebay. The above are a selection of my nearest and dearest. A shoe for every occassion. Perfectly rescilliant to all types of unforseen circumstances, are the entourage above. The red studded babes were £12 in the Zara sale. Real leather I tell you, and about the coolest and most comfortable high shoes I have ever laid my fair feet 'pon. The tweedy slipper shoes with the red piping are by Etro at Deuxieme (the shop I work in and can't stop banging on about) We have (by the by) opened a new little sister shop called Deuxieme Too! just accross the road which is selling more high end designer and it has a vintage section by Love Miss Daisy. The suede western boots are from Dorothy Perkins and they are THE BEST BLOODY BOOTS I HAVE EVER MET IN ALL MY TWENTY FOUR YEARS OF LIVING. My mum fell in love with them and she fears a purchase is iminent...God save our souls. The other boots are from a charity shop and H & M respectively. The pointed toes on the furthest away boots are great, real great. So that's it. Now I'm going to browse summer holidays...Figi anyone?

Easy Ethereal

Valentino skirt: Deuxieme
Susie Gallagher Skirt: Deuxieme
Leopard skin/snake skin Vintage M&S shirt: Charity shop

Float like an angel AND stay toasty...
Just because it's getting colder outside does NOT mean you have to put your sheers away. Oh no. Layer floaty, ethereal, see through, mermaid-like skirts with woolen tights and chunky knits (even wooly socks and biker boots) to get a look straight off the Alexander Wang A/W 2011 catwalk. Oh how I pine for a pale pink silk skirt to rock the look even more... See below.

In my closet

Sometimes it's good to have a bit of a sort out and get your head around what pieces you want to wear once the weather gets a bit chilly...
I, myself, me, like to chuck all summery things in a bin liner and put it in the wardrobe and re stock the shelf which housed such silky floral numbers with knits, knits and more knits.
Here are a few of my fave accessories at the moment. The burberry tea cosy hat was found at Capital Car Boot Sale and I share it with my boyfriend (although it is set to cause a lot of feuds I think!) The shoes, clutch and silk dotty men's evening scarf are from Deuxieme but originally from Topshop, Banana Republic and anonymous respectively. (Told you it was the place to shop!!) My gold armour cuff was found today for £2 at a charity shop on the Fulham Road as was the amazing silver tassle key ring on the bag. And my Caroline Hoxton battered leather bag was 0.99p on Ebay...Hell yer! Good labels do not have to cost the earth. Become a bargain hunter and you will be laughing.

Treasure Chest in Deuxieme

Situated at 299 New Kings Road, Deuxieme is close to Parsons Green Tube

The shop gets new stock in each and every day meaning that regulars snap up the best deals before anyone else has time to see the items!

Inside there is a shabby-chic feel to the shop...

Autumn/Winter stock lines the rails

This Furla snakeskin tote is top of my list...we all know how I feel about snakeskin.

There is a coffee and cake bar so you can put your feet up if the shopping gets a bit too much!

Vintage Louis Vuitton and Chanel at unbelievably reasonable prices.

Sit outside while you drink your latte...

Dresses hang from the wall as you make your way downstairs...

What is this?? Even more clothes below deck!

A snap of some of the evening dresses downstairs.

Do you like hunting for treasure??
One of Fulham's best kept secrets (and one of my favourite places this side of London) is Deuxieme at 299 New Kings Road. I work here a few days each week and so I know from first hand experience what amazing stock this shop has in it. Being a dress agency, the premise of the shop is to take in second hand designer and top end high street and sell it in the shop space on behalf of the customer. This means that you can all sell at Deuxieme too! There are a few restrictions though. The clothes must be no more than 2 years old (unless they are vintage-we have a vintage section especially for this!) and they must be within the season. It is up to those working to decide whether the clothes are in keeping with the trends of the season. I have watched hundreds of people leave Deuxieme with glee as they have snapped up an unbelievable label at an even more unbelievable price! You are bound to find something in this treasure chest especially as bags of clothes, shoes and jewellery arrive each and every day! Check out the amazing Temperley navy leather chain jacket in picture 3! I want, I want.

I work every Saturday and odd days in the week too and I would love to see you all in there!
